Very attractive bright red, contains plum fruit and some hints of cigar on the nose. Rich nuttiness follows through on the palate but it boasts a good tannin balance and a lingering after taste with a slight hint of chocolate and mocha.
A perfect accompaniment to fillet steak, lamb chops or a hearty stew.
My taste note: Closely full bodied, bamboo leaf aroma with earthly spicy taste. Finish with cigar hit. Below RM45, Two glasses out of five

Wine-making: The grapes are harvested at perfect maturity, de-stemmed, crushed and left to ferment for 6 to 12 days. the must is reguarly pumped over to release the color of the skins.
Color: clear, of medium intensity, garnet red, with hints of purple.
Nose: intense aromas of berries and red fruit, such as cherries, blackcurrant and raspberries.
Palate: a pleasant, rich and very round wine with lasting aromas and a good length.
Recommendations: this red wine may be served with cured meats, salads and cheeses. However, it will be enjoyed even more on its own or with desserts.
My taste note: Medium bodied, sweet gum aromas with hit finish. Medium sweet. Below RM45, one glass out of five.

Castillo De Molina Pinot Noir 2007 Reserva


Variety: 100% Pinot Noir

Origin: This wine is obtained from Pinot Noir grapes from central Valley - approximately half from the Curico Valley and Coastal Maipo Valley. The vineyards are planted on gentle hills, vertically trellised and drip irrigated.

Harvest: The grapes are hand harvested during last week of March and the first week of April. The vineyard yield were 8 tons per hectare.

Vinification: Following 3 days cold soak, alcoholic fermentation took place with selected yeats at contolled temparatus of 25-27'C with 4 short pumpovers per day. Total maceration was 15 days and 100% of final blend was aged for 10 months in French oak barrel, 30% new.

Colour: Light but brilliant ruby red

Aroma: Present aromas of red fruit such berries, Cherries, and plums, which well balanced with toasted note from oak aging.

Palate: Fresh and fruity, with delicate, soft, and harmonious tannins, with a long finish. Drink now or hold 3-4 years

Alcohol: 13.8%

My drinking note: Light bodied, fruit aroma, medium acidity and finish short. Price below Rm60, a glass mark out of five for it.

Geography: The Vin de Pays d'Oc region is located in Languedoc-Roussillon in the south of France.
Soil: The types of soil vary considerably across the Vins de Pays d'Oc vine-growing region and include sand, clay-limestone and schist.
Wine-making: Grapes harvested at peak ripeness, destalked and trodden before being fermented for 6-12 days at controlled temperatures (around 30°C) and gently pressed.
Service: This wine is best served at a temperature between 16 and 18°C.
Food matching: This wine can accompany a wide variety of dishes including red meats, cold cuts, salads and most cheeses.

Ruffino Chianti 2008


VINTAGE: 2008
GRAPE VARIETALS : A minimum of 75% Sangiovese plus other varieties admitted by code production, such as Canaiolo and Colorino.
VINEYARDS : From grapes grown in the best-known wine-growing regions of Chianti.
VINIFICATION AND AGEING : The grapes were harvested beginning from the end of September.
Alcoholic fermentation, usually aided by racking and punching down, continued for about 2 weeks at an average temperature of 26°C in temperature-controlled stainless-steel and concrete vats.
The wine is aged for 4 months in stainless steel and concrete vats and then in bottle.
Alcohol content: 12.5% vol.
Colour: Ruby red
Aroma: As always this Chianti features a deliciously vinous bouquet, where the floral and fruity notes lead towards a finish of slightly spicy scents of wild cherry and hazelnuts.
Tasting profile: Medium-bodied, Chianti Ruffino is pleasantly fruity, harmonious and persistent.
A young Sangiovese which can be perfectly matched with a wide variety of traditional Italian dishes.
In production since the beginning of the twentieeth century

My taste note : Young wine, medium bodied with floral aromas. A round wine above RM60, two glasses out of five mark.
