Ruffino Chianti 2008

VINTAGE: 2008
GRAPE VARIETALS : A minimum of 75% Sangiovese plus other varieties admitted by code production, such as Canaiolo and Colorino.
VINEYARDS : From grapes grown in the best-known wine-growing regions of Chianti.
VINIFICATION AND AGEING : The grapes were harvested beginning from the end of September.
Alcoholic fermentation, usually aided by racking and punching down, continued for about 2 weeks at an average temperature of 26°C in temperature-controlled stainless-steel and concrete vats.
The wine is aged for 4 months in stainless steel and concrete vats and then in bottle.
Alcohol content: 12.5% vol.
Colour: Ruby red
Aroma: As always this Chianti features a deliciously vinous bouquet, where the floral and fruity notes lead towards a finish of slightly spicy scents of wild cherry and hazelnuts.
Tasting profile: Medium-bodied, Chianti Ruffino is pleasantly fruity, harmonious and persistent.
A young Sangiovese which can be perfectly matched with a wide variety of traditional Italian dishes.
In production since the beginning of the twentieeth century

My taste note : Young wine, medium bodied with floral aromas. A round wine above RM60, two glasses out of five mark.
